We currently offer four types of semi-private swimming pool party experiences listed below, for groups of all sizes that want to enjoy the pool during public recreational hours. We offer three party booking times, seven days a week.

Parties can be booked from:

  • 10:30am-1pm
  • 1:30-4pm
  • 4:30-7pm

You can also extend your party to two booking times (5.5 Hours) or rent a pool for an ALL-DAY party for an additional fee.

Private Buyouts are available starting after 7pm seven days a week. If you are interested in booking a private event, please submit the inquiry form below and a Plunge Events Team Member will be in touch within 48 hours.

We host a variety of events, but not limited to:

  • Birthdays
  • Bachelor / Bachelorette Parties
  • Graduations / Grad Nights
  • End of Year Celebrations for Schools and or Sports teams
  • Field Trips (churches, schools, non-profits)

**Please note that each party space has a maximum capacity. If you have more guests than the capacity, then multiple spaces will need to be booked.

Plunge Parties

Plunge Parties are the perfect option for groups who want to rent a pool for a party in San Diego during public recreational hours. This package includes up to 20 guests (adults & children whether they are swimming or not swimming). If you are expecting more than 20 guests, then multiple lounges will need to be rented. We have two Plunge Party lounges available for booking.

Rates: $245 per 2.5-hour session, $345 for 5.5 -hour session or $445 for the entire day (10:30am-7pm).

Included in your Plunge Party reservation is a designated lounge area that includes: one lounge style seat, a couch, bench, and access to our state-of-the art obstacle course for the duration of the party.

Premium Plunge Parties

Plunge Premium Parties include everything our Plunge Party does, PLUS a table and four chairs, as well as preferred lounge space. This package includes up to 20 guests (adults & children whether they are swimming or not swimming). If you are expecting more than 20 guests, then multiple lounges will need to be rented. We have three Premium Lounges available for booking.

Rates: $295 per 2.5-hour session, $395 for 5.5-hour session or $495 for the entire day (10:30am-7pm).

Included in your Premium Plunge Party reservation is a designated lounge area located in a premium location on the pool deck, a couch, bench, table with four chairs, and access to our state-of-the art obstacle course for the duration of the party.

Premium Plus Parties

Premium Plus Parties include an additional couch and extended lounge space. This package includes up to 25 guests (adults & children whether they are swimming or not swimming). If you are expecting more than 25 guests, then multiple lounges will need to be rented. We have two Premium Plus lounges available for booking.

Rates: $425 per 2.5-hour session, $575 for 5.5-hour session or $725 for the entire day (10:30am-7pm).

Included in your Premium Plus Party reservation is a designated lounge area located in a premium location on the pool deck, one lounge style seat, a premium couch, and access to our state-of-the art obstacle course for the duration of the party.

VIP Parties North and South Lounges

VIP Plunge Parties are perfect for groups who want to enjoy ocean views and an exclusive area that includes panoramic views of both the Plunge Pool and Mission Beach. This package includes up to 25 guests (adults & children whether they are swimming or not swimming). If you are expecting more than 25 guests, then multiple lounges will need to be rented. We have two VIP lounges available for booking.

Rates: $475 per 2.5-hour session, $625 for 5.5 -hour session or $775 for the entire day (10:30am-7pm). Both VIP Decks can be reserved for $775 for 2.5 hours, $1,075 for 5.5 hours and $1,375 for the entire day.

Each VIP lounge reservation includes a large table with eight chars, a premium couch area, an elevated belly top table, and access to our state-of-the art obstacle course for the duration of the party.

Private Parties

Private Plunge Parties are available after 7pm*.

All private bookings are available on a request-by-request basis, with the rental fee + a required minimum spend that will be quoted based on the date / time of your event.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    How many people am I allowed and what if I have additional swimmers?

    The number of guests included in your booking differs between party packages and is dependent on the lounge you book. Each person in your lounge will receive a wristband and count as a guest—regardless of if they are swimming or spectating.

    Guest count per lounge:

    • Plunge Party and Premium Party lounges: total of 20 guests included.
    • Premium Plus & VIP Party lounges: total of 25 guests included.

    Up to 5 additional guests can be added to your party booking. These additional guests are $10 per person if booked in advance and $15 if added on the day of your party. You can request to add these guests after your booking is confirmed.

    If you intend to bring more than extra 5 guests, an additional lounge will need to be reserved in order to accommodate your group.

    Your party Guest of Honor swims FREE!

    Private parties can accommodate up to 500 guests.

    When will the final payment be billed?

    Final payments are taken a few days prior to the event. You will receive a confirmation email that will highlight the last day to submit food/add-on orders, and the day of which the final payment will be charged to the card on file. Upon booking, the host acknowledges that payment will be finalized prior to the event date.

    • To update the card on file, you may do the following:
      • Update the card through the online customer portal.
      • Call our facility to update the card over the phone.
      • Come in person to update the card on file.

     

    May I bring my own food & drink?

    Yes! For an additional $50 fee, outside food and sealed non-alcoholic beverages will be allowed with any party booking. Outside food and drink must be consumed in your party area. The fee will be assessed based on the number of lounges you have reserved.

    Additional food and drink information:

    • All parties are welcome a cake or birthday treat at no additional cost.
    • Alcoholic Beverages must be purchased through Belmont Park.
    • You can also add pre-ordered food to your booking that will be brought directly to your lounge during your party. The menu can be viewed at time of booking.
    • We also offer full catering through our Belmont catering partnership. The catering fee is $200 + menu item costs. Catering menu available upon request.

    Will other guests be in the facility?

    If booking a Plunge Party, Plunge Premium Party, or VIP Plunge Party, we are still open for public and member use.


    Private parties are allowed exclusive access to our obstacle course in the shallow end. We reserve the right to have swim lessons or other programs occurring during Private Parties if needed but will be cognizant of the exclusive space. Rental fees are based on the date, time and number of guests in your party and typically start at 7:15pm.

    What should I bring?

    You are welcome to bring goodie bags, sealed bottles of water, a cake or birthday treat, and decorations for your party.


    We also have swim equipment (e.g., lifejackets, pool noodles, kickboards) included for your use. Towel service is available as an add on when booking.  $1.50 per towel pre-booked or $2.00 per towel when rented at the front desk.

    Can I extend my party time?

    To request to have additional time added onto your party, you can email us here: [email protected]

    If you see availability online for your desired extension time slot, we encourage you to book it independently online (as a second booking). The $100 deposit will go toward your total booking cost, the remaining balance will be adjusted accordingly.

    Additional Session Extension Pricing:

    • Extend a Plunge or Plunge Premium Party to 5.5 hours (two sessions) for just $100 more (only available for 10:30am & 1:30pm booking start times) 
    • Extend a Premium Plus party or VIP Party to 5.5 hours (two sessions) for just $150 more (only available for 10:30am & 1:30pm booking start times)

    All Day Extension Pricing:

    • Extend Plunge or Plunge Premium Party to ALL Day (10:30am-7pm) for just $200 more (only available for 10:30am booking start times)
    • Extend a Premium Plus or VIP Party to ALL Day (10:30am-7pm) for just $300 more (only available for 10:30am booking start time)

    All extension requests are based upon availability.

    Am I allowed to decorate?

    Yes, we encourage guests to make their space memorable! We do not allow confetti, glass or anything that will cause damage to our facility. Guests are allowed to decorate their reserved bay space 15 minutes prior to their reservation time. A 6-foot folding table is available to add to the event order, which you are welcome to decorate with your own table cloth and fixtures. Guests must clean up their reserved area by the completion of their scheduled party time and dispose of the trash in an appropriate location. 

    Guests are required to clean up their party area by the end of their reservation and take their garbage out of the facility. An additional $50 clean up fee will be assessed in the event of confetti, broken glass or if cleaning is required by Plunge staff.

    What if I stay past my reservation time?

    Parties must be cleaned up and out of the facility by the end of the reservation time. A $50 late fee will be automatically assessed for any parties occupying the facility longer than a 5-minute courtesy grace period. If available, parties may have the option to extend their rental into an extra session for only $100 for Plunge Parties and Premium Parties or $150 for VIP & Premium Plus Parties.

    What is the difference between a Plunge Party, Premium Party, Premium Plus Party, and a VIP Party?

    Plunge Party– A dedicated Lounge with a couch and adequate furniture. Includes 20 guests.

    Premium Plunge Party – All Plunge Party amenities PLUS added ottoman and extra lounge seating, as well as preferred lounge location closer to the pool entrance. Includes 20 guests.

    Premium Plus Party – Extended area on the pool deck in a prime location with two premium couches providing additional seating. Includes 25 guests.

    VIP Party – Private, exclusive, and elevated deck seating with an eight-top seated table, standing circular table, and a premium couch area. Includes 25 guests.

    ALL lounges can add a 6-foot folding table for additional cost. This can be done during the booking process, over the phone, or the day of the event.

    All parties are 2.5 hours and include the following food options: order with our partner catering services; order food as an add-on during the booking process; bring in outside food and sealed non-alcoholic beverages ($50 fee).

    Does my guest count include non-swimmers?

    Yes. The wristbands supplied to you are for use by anyone in your party’s attendance. This number includes spectators. 

    If pre-booked, you may add on additional guests at a rate of $10 per guest (maximum 5 total additional guests).

    Do you only host birthday parties?

    No, we host all types of parties and events! We have bachelorette parties, bachelor parties, bah mitzvahs, Quinceanera’s, school outings, grad nights, corporate outings, Sorority and Fraternity events, etc. We also host photo shoots and video shoots with companies such as Speedo, Finis and Nike. Our venue is perfect for any event that you can imagine!

    Is my deposit refundable and when do I pay my balance?

    Deposits for all party bookings are non-refundable and due the day of booking to reserve your spot. If extenuating circumstances arise, we will do our best to accommodate a change of date or try to find an adequate solution.

    For guests booking an extended party or entire day party: two/three deposits will need to be made AND two/three separate reservations will need to be made to ensure your lounge is reserved (one deposit and reservation for each time slot).

    The remaining balance for parties will be due at least 72 hours before your party. Any additional charges your party incurs may be charged up to 72 hours after your party.

    If I order food, what time will it be delivered to my party? And can I order more food the day of the party?

    We attempt to have all food delivered approximately one hour after the start of your party.

    All food must be pre-ordered through Plunge at least 72 hours in advance. If additional food is needed day of, Belmont Park has multiple food and beverage options. Any food and beverage purchased on-site at Belmont Park can be brought into Plunge without a fee.

    Is the Guest of Honor included in the guest count and what do they get?

    The Guest of Honor is not included in the guest count and has a complimentary pass to the Plunge with the party booking. The Guest of Honor will also receive a Plunge Gift Pack that might include things such as a special wristband, free snack item and a free day pass to return another day.

    Can I bring in my own alcoholic beverages? If not, where can I purchase drinks during my party?

    We do not allow guests to bring in their own alcoholic beverages. However, alcohol may be purchased anywhere in Belmont Park and brought into Plunge for no fee. On-site food and drink establishments include Cannonball, Draft, Beach House, and more.

    Are party lounges ADA accessible?

    Yes! Our Plunge, Premium and Premium Plus lounges are easily accessible for all guests to enjoy. We also have two ADA lifts providing access to both the shallow end and deep end of the pool.

    How do I rent a pool for a party in San Diego?

    That’s easy! You can use our online booking to check out our swimming pool party rental schedule and book your own party in San Diego. You’ll need to input your desired date, time, and package, as well as any special requirements you may have.
